You Crossed My Mind (Free verse) by gregg333
You crossed my mind in Michigan 200 footsteps in deep snow The swan wing edge of a frozen lake You rolled by like a slow freight train Laden and alive Caught up in swirls of snow Dealing with the Ten Thousand Things Open and empty The snow taught me your silence In that moment I understood Life is like the swirls of snow Your soul the deep, frozen lake My mind the footsteps You crossed my mind in Michigan As only you can by Gregg Parrish

Up the ladder: Can't we be together?
Down the ladder: For the Lonely

I like the way it sounds..."you rolled by like a slow freight train" I like the tone and feeling of the poem. Its a bit simple for though the poem its self is a deep metaphor..I almost wish it was longer but I still think its great!!
