Strung (Free verse) by bunniesnangels
Women are pearls you string, Slid next to one another with a satisfying "plink," Each singly-purchased treasure cherished momentarily And only with a new one in your pocket Do you dare release the gem you're fingering. 2/4/02

Up the ladder: help me understand
Down the ladder: Heil Pope

reminds me of the four wives in the movie "raise the red lantern". Very good.

this cries to me for more of a beat:

Women are pearls that you string,
Slid one to another with a satisfying "plink."
Each purchased alone, momentarily shone
-

and so on.
somehow it makes it more vindictive for me that way. like you are ramming the words home, with each hard beat.
