firelight lost (Free verse) by irishfolksuicide
Return oh glowing firelight lost
From under embers antique dust
Rekindle among the paper leaves
As burning beacon lights the trees
On twitchless tombs of sleeping death
Cast across your cinder breath
To light the night with candle stars
And lift the darkness prison bars
In meadow halls of matted rays
Where vines grow longer than the days
Burn the roots taking hold
In the soot of furnace coal
In corridors of ringing bells
Scatter round your fountain spells
Turn the ceilings into skies
Staring down at waking eyes
Return oh glowing firelight lost
Contemptful with your fiery gust
Do you hide from what you see
Or is the one thats hiding me
