Shadows pass before the moon In silent promenade, And in the whispering of the brook False promises are made. Hollow threats and vulgar vows Come creeping, intertwined, And though I know the voices lie, I stop- and look behind.

Up the ladder: She moves
Down the ladder: So Cold
