The Secret (Free verse) by nentwined
There are no adults. That's why we made gods. Governments. Lawyers. Childhood bullies learning consensual rules. Mostly not knowing that they're just rules. Rules, like in any other game. Not laws. Nothing is certain but death. And even then -- who knows?

Up the ladder: War (edit)

I like the fact that there are no adults. Justifies me being bratty from time to time. ;o)

How dare you! You bring the disfavour of the Gods upon us all with such insolence! The Gods made us. We did not make the Gods. To argue otherwise is naughtiness.

I like this poem a lot, it's well-written and true, although the ending seems a little disconnected. 8.

Do I agree with the premise? I agree we made gods, but as for the reason - we'd have to agree on a definition of an adult.

I put this in the category of "thoughts that might turn into poems".
