Small Town Snow (Free verse) by OneFingerAnswer
No need for Hester Prynne's scarlet A The old town`s folk will remember anyway One mistake and you`re good as dead Hunter's bullet in the head The old ladies, they`ll soon know Like a hunter following you in the snow They see the missteps and fallen blood And where your slips turn snow to mud Once they catch you, your social life is done And it doesn't matter how fast or far you run Your private life they snoopingly invade If you`ve done wrong their day is made Which young widows married to fast, Who had sex before the wedding`s past, Who really is Billy`s dad All their talk is rather sad They cannot speak about any one there But miss a meeting and it`s all fair They really are a vicious pack But no one has another`s back

Up the ladder: I will love you forever
Down the ladder: she said
