The Eyestroke (Free verse) by seebergerb
Reflections - scene - the world without glasses, stark and white, now the colors come together and become something more, a dash and a line, a stroke of gold and a picture - we sleep among the visions we desire, wretched and beautiful, the hidden message beneath all, always there like a haunted mist (that shuttles us into those realms we fear) but we resist, push back, and acknowledge the seniority of time against our statement of being - when the angels in their white wings come down to earth and give us the courage to withstand the winds.

2nd stanza says it all for humanity! It reminds me of another poem. See my letter to time.
