Familiarity (Free verse) by Rumidi
You used to come to me In infinitesimal measures Only one mystery at a time - I considered you to be abysmal. Today, you have crossed the threshold Bringing all your excavations Your discoveries and creations Your revivals and disintegrations - You have grown smaller than yourself. During some star-lit serenading Or moon-lit poetry rendition, During some churning of life's chores, Counting of familiar ecstasies Or nightmares, Amidst contrived walls of contentment Contrition or conversion -We have grown accustomed To the realisation of dreams.

Up the ladder: It's something about you
Down the ladder: King of the Road
