A Thousand Lives (Free verse) by amateurR
One life will not do justice- To the love I want to give you I would need a thousand lives To love you. A hundred to see you, till I knew Every spot on your body Till your every vein and every bone Was imprinted on my mind Another hundred to touch you Stroke every part of you Inside and out Outside and in Maybe a few hundred would pass In becoming one with you Till the rhythm of our breathing Coincided A hundred more it would take For me to express it in words For how can one life of words Convey the love of a thousand I would need another hundred lives then, To embrace you Till your body and soul Were embossed on mine At the end of a thousand lives- I would ask for a thousand more Oh! My lips have not met yours yet My desires have been bound by a time too short A thousand lives will not do justice To the love I need to give you- I need an eternity To love you

Up the ladder: Sun in my Middle
Down the ladder: Sociology of Deviance
