Funny you should say fiddle, my cousin on the other side of the big water recently picked up fiddling. He's teaching himself, And I was impressed with that motivation. Violin or fiddle, music is important!

...but this haiku smells nuthin' but fine, fine, fine. I believe the term most widely accepted in academe is fiddle. As in, Ah do believe ahm fixin' tuh play this'n here fiddle. If you do rosin up the bow, be sure and do your best Irish American tribute with a hearty round of Lannigan's Ball. Thereafter, Fox on the Run.
