Night Photograph (Free verse) by jess33
I love taking pictures in the earliest part of the evening when the sky is cradling the sunset and the lens captures rays of light that stream through the subjects as their images are invariably thrust onto film. For this moment, silently, visually, fleetingly, they are not themselves, but rather the people they could be. This gives me hope.

Up the ladder: witch's bliss
Down the ladder: Missing You

But that hope must be dashed soon afterwards? There is a loneliness behind this poem that I really like.

sometimes what is captured on film is so much emptier though. and the inherent sadness of that can be...devastating...

nice ideas but they are presented with a total lack of subtlety. especially that last line. i guess its 'honest' but its like you just put this closed idea out there it leaves nothing to the imagination, offers no nuances. otherwise the rest of the poem is pretty good.
