Just hold me (Sonnet) by amanda_dcosta
The morning breaks, sun streams across the earth There are things to be done throughout the day So busy, toiling many hours at work Tired and worn; there seems no other way. The distance wide, the seas keep us apart. Not out of choice; for such is what fate’s given Though strange, we love, and love with all our heart each other, with hopes of our wedded union. Yet, though I seem so strong and courageous And go on living one day to the next I break down, struggle, wonder why I cannot Walk the path that my heart says is best. If only your arms could just hold me tight To cross the seas sans fear, perhaps I might.
