I was asking about the rain and the fortitude simply because you left it open so abruptly and I forgot everything just then. I needed a reminder. This time was different, you promised and I agreed, it was. Retelling would make it even more so I hoped, but this is what happened. Each word lashed on to what happened before, before, before, skipping stones plunging, military uniforms, sleeves rolled up, medals polished.

the tone and voice are polished. i like this even better than the other one. i may be mistaken but i think you meant either latched or leashed rather than lashed. otherwise top notch.
