Whore of Babylon (Free verse) by oneglove
You call me naïve I call it idealistic You say the world is broke I say it hasn’t been fixed yet I don’t have all the answers But I can see the problems A complacent populous Scared that change will rob them Maybe politicians They all start like me Tired of the system And our “democracy” But something always happens In the marble towers To reinforce The way that men treat power Jackals on the carcass Of hopes and dreams Fighting over scraps Feeding the machine The only way for change Is for revolution Not a call for anarchy Just for a solution

Up the ladder: Portsmouth Belle 5
Down the ladder: the product of repetition
