Eye's Upon Tomorrow's Night (Free verse) by Enkidu
Cast light at strange angles to see tricks easily Uncover simple games Enliven the deadest of trees with imagination Reanimate nature's regrets With hands of a forgotten Embittered magician For here lies the spoken life More private in conviction Than all the throes of a bashful schoolgirl's affections To him the world was just that And she was in it So unhappy the orator drones What buried notion soils the grave No figure awakened Could reinvent such fabulous distraction From the dying we insist Should be called living

Up the ladder: May I?
Down the ladder: Return from Dubious Mission
