Sails of Sorrow (Lyric) by D. $ Fontera
*I imagine this sung as a melodic viking death metal song with harsh vocals, but it could be anything* I shake in dreams of salt and sand My day's disparaging descent Upon the shore of some strange land I leave my fire injured lament There is a fever in your heart A calming symphony I'll play But when the paths we follow part We must be careful where we stray Sails of sorrow Deck of shame You speak my sins You speak my name I am the sun Upon your face I curse the sea I curse this place I wander out into the trees I search for hours and call you back But silence comes again to me It veils the voice I've come to lack And somewhere in the distance I know for sure that you survive My legs are burning for the chance That you may still be here alive Sails of sorrow Deck of shame You speak my sins You speak my name I am the sun Upon your face I curse the sea I curse this place

"I" in the chorus is the sun, but "I" in the verses is apparently the narrator. Does the sun curse the sea, or does the narrator?

A good start, and could be a good poem
