angst of the saints (Free verse) by calliope
you dont get me. but neither do i. the words that i use are my own, but i try. like how a dream is defined by some publisher's eye. so i'm just as surprised as you when you reply.

It seems the last line should be, "i'm just as surprised as you when i reply."

A publisher's eye is defined by what sells. That is, what people buy, what they like. Don't make it publishers' fault.

Yes calliope, so write lots of crap like Grisham, King, and Rice and watch the money roll in.

Have you transmuted an experiential dross into gold as every professor of alchemy, on occasion, should?

My crap's not gold but my pee is. Close enough to alchemy I guess.

Yes, there you have it - good one, lol. Take the general lousiness of the world and return it as a gift: of ugliness and angst or sadness, but just perhaps, of beauty too.

You have the most lovely and delightful weirdness about you.
Absolutely legendary.

My birthday is coming up. Could you migrate that lovely sentiment into a card with red roses, the velvet kind that fuzz up from the surface and feel clean-shaven to the cheek. And dark chocolate is quite appropriate.

So do you believe I know women a little better than Zodiac yet?

That's a very general question to which I have no general answer. I dare say you know how to get what you want from a woman better than he does.

Sure, he's single. I had to marry one to get what I want.

God, you have to use that line in one of your stories.
Priceless.
I think your gettin' real close to the "Friends" formula.

"The sound of a kiss is not so loud as a cannon, but its echo lasts a great deal longer."

Don't - but blame readers, not publishers. That's harder, isn't it? Readers are like us. What are you reading now?

Right now, a book I bought at a yardsale called "The Practical Imagination; Stories, poems and plays. Before that I read Clive Barker's "Abarat". It's a guilty pleasure but he at least is far more creative than his contemporaries.

the last thing i read was some plato. how lame is that? apparently he had good publishers because his shit's still around in yard sales.

Not lame at all. He helped make Socrates into an almost holy icon and he is probably in the top 3 most widely read philosophers of all time. Pupil of Socrates, teacher of Aristotle. How's that for a resume? I got his book from a yard sale too.
