sprung (Free verse) by <~>
singing with the morning under my wings
strung up like some love junkie coming down
i loose last night's lament
ready myself to spring
alift on the wings of others,
innocents, incoherent and lost in the sorrow
of an uncaged regret
i leave her there, in the undone past

But to spring aloft on the wings of others with uncaged regrets seems counter to your theme, though quite poetic.
