Promise Me (Other) by Taco
I don't need a pile of cash, I don't need a ring, I don't need a place to stay, I don't need anything. Just promise me that you'll be there whenever i'm in need; And promise me that when I write, you'll take the time to read. Promise me that when we meet you'll hug and hold me tight; And stay with me until I go, if only for one night. I may not seem very smart, to love you in this way; But you're the one who loves me, so for you, I will stay.

seems like a first draft. make line four have the same rhythm as line two.

You're right, it's not smart to love in this way. Unless this is poking fun at people who do, and I don't see hints of that, it is shallow.
