she was at the doorway again; pale hands transparent against the wall, her steps unsure with weakness, she hesitated looking up at me for a second... confused... halfway between here and there... i should have spoken to her then.. instead i shrunk inside myself hid behind my 16 years of life while Mamma gazed at me from her dwindling 34.....
