The promise (Free verse) by thepinkbunnyofdoom
Some of things inside my head Are better off left unsaid, so I said nothing, and now I am nowhere. They say it's quiet here, but a riot is all I hear. Bricks breaking windows and looters stealing thunder, The sky above screaming of the robbery, of her sweet innocent baby. I'm running red lights, foot down full throttle, lips clutching tight, the neck of this bottle. Racing off into the sunset, hoping that in the heat, I can forget. Your promise was beautiful, with your perfect words, carefully carved from glass. Anything that beautiful, could never hope to last, so as I fall down to the floor, watch as I too Shatter

The first stanza reminds me of my friend Skip, "Stay out of my mind, there's things in there i don't want you to know." Good visuals.
