Cancer (Free verse) by Billy Fights
I just had a conversation that moved me I actually felt something stirring in my skeleton Somewhere behind the ribcage I can't remember what you call those things Oh yeah, Lungs, silly me I feel alive, and on the verge of being healed from my current cancer, when it ends My remission has turned deadly I feel it in my bones, I need more sweet posion. I'm addicted to the scent on the back of her neck, and I know it. We all know it. Place the bottle to my lips, and I will drink myself deeper into ground. Just ask them to close the lid when you're finished with me The familiar sting of remembering the things, on which I used to rely. I'd fall down If I thought I could get back up, with everything still on my side I might actually sleep at night, and wake up from this nightmare

Up the ladder: The Mask
Down the ladder: The Beach
