My eyes want to close But this keeps me awake My body wears down With every breath I take I lay concious here But completely unaware Of what's going on around me Frankly, I don't care The only things sustaining me Are the things that fill my dreams Floating in and out of sleep As crazy as it seems I watch my most hidden thoughts On a big screen somewhere inside You're on every channel Always tuned in to my mind Someone hand me the remote So I can try to rest my head I try to stop the rolling film But the batteries are dead I'm wrapped up in my mistakes And the things I should have done I just lay and ponder the night away Bound by what can't be outrun I see your face in all the portraits That hang on the walls of my brain Etched in stone, stained in cloth Colors and details all too plain Tracing a finger along your face Your voice ringing in my ears It's no wonder I cannot sleep When your'e gone, but still here *For Katie who i miss with all my heart

Few typos, this is more "pimple" than "freeverse", and inside/mind. -6-
