It doesn't matter what it looks like. If the poet thinks it's a poem then it's a poem. Simple as that.

I have to disagree with you there. You forgot that poetry is an art form, and as such should have so artistic value to it. Poets are painter who use words as their canvas. This is a however painting with words. Thats why its a poem.

Why don't you just take it further and say a painting with paints is a poem? Then "poem" won't really mean anything more than "beautiful" and people can stop belabouring it and get on with their lives. Or maybe you just heard somebody say a sunset or woman's body was a poem once and believed it.

Look close. All is alone yet together. Where as the rest of the message is broken and scattered. Accidental or no, I see the ALL, being together but alone, as artistic. The majority of the letters are scattered across the page, brought together by a mental zig zaging connection. Its individualism yet connection to the other letters, is what in my mind, is so poetic about it.

Christ, that's what I'm supposed to get from looking close? Of course I know what's in this post, but I thought we were talking about whether or not it's a poem.

Let me put it another way: If I printed the words, oh I don't know, 'Humbug' and 'Salubrious' (yesterday's dictionary.com word of the day!) in different fonts and jaunty angles on a white canvas, would it be a poem or a picture? If you don't clearly distinguish between the two, aren't you in for a world of shit?

I say, Yes, you probably are.

I like the waves, but I don't really see it as snow, sucking or otherwise.
