Subtle Reasons (Free verse) by crooked_smile
Does anyone else see the subtle reasons why God is a father and nature a mother? Could it be because we turn to God, for answers to the tough questions, even though we know we won't get a straight answer? Is it because we turn to nature for the miracle of life, and for love, and for happiness, and for comfort? Is it because God keeps us wondering through the long night, but nature wraps us in her arms and holds us tight?

Down the ladder: Colors of Me

thanks - i guess what i meant by "straight answer" is that like, you know, if you believe god is compassionate why is their suffering, if he doesnt know of the suffering then how is he all knowing, if it is because of the devil why does he stop it stuff like that -------

I believe god is very compassionate, the suffering well we create that ourselves. Rest assured he knows of the suffering, and will walk beside you on the journey to healing and growth, but will not take the steps for you. Free will was given to each and every one of us, he lovingly stands back and lets us fall while holding his breath, like a parent watching a child learn to walk. In order to learn how to walk you must also learn how to fall, and eventualy that child will know how to catch herself before she falls. Although it can be a rough lesson, in the end that child learned alot of valuble lessons.
Think not of God turning a blind eye to his children, realize that we all must learn to walk our path on our own. For if someone does everything for you in life and gives you all the answers, what have you really learned?.
The devil well once again i do not believe in the devil, I do believe there are many evil things in this world, Like selfishness, heartless-ness, greed, ego, and money lol. thos are your devil.

That's pretty much it. God is strong, infallible, doesn't wear shoes, male. Nature is nurturing and female. Not exactly subtle though. It merely reflects beliefs held as our language evolved.

Please tell me you read my response before deleting it. Everybody else did, apparently, so what difference does it make. In fact, you can just select one of the following easy responses:

A) I read your comment, found it cast my poem in a bad light, was afraid of it dragging down my voting, but didn't want to change the poem so it wasn't sexist.

PS-I notice richa said the same thing. Do you believe me now?
