Never... (Free verse) by jessicazee
sit with the door to your back stay more than an hour anywhere pay for water or ice believe anyone who doubts your trust put more toppings on a pizza than it can handle use the phone when drunk joke about your body's smell think you know what a cat is saying ignore large traffic signs inhale the expired dairy get serious on pills kiss chapped lips wait too long without gloves wear a second-hand hat unwashed assume everyone loves cornmeal mush tell anyone the truth unless you can run really fast recount a joke punchline first admit you get starstruck choose the discounted pregnancy test pretend you can dance if you can’t but always always dance if you can sit wherever you like lean on the strong things that marrow they will always always hold you up

Up the ladder: A Melody
Down the ladder: Reunion

Nice little list of things to never do. I wrote a similar one a while back called "32 Truths and 1 Lie". Some good advice here, but what if you HAVE to stay in one place longer than one hour? Sorry, just giving a hard time. Not too bad.

A lot of these lines are just silly, but "Never believe anyone who doubts your trust" makes sense.
