medieval myth (Free verse) by ThePariahDog
once a creature dwelled nearby that was awakened by false hopes guiding sole intending to cause harm upon him eye misted instead of observing the challenger's foreign tongue ritualistic duties imposed by human law more crucial now in the encounter frustration masks a dismal countenance debauching the last few moments of relations the visage of a cyclops peering from slumber at site of the monstrosity's arousal a sword fell, but its sheath remained shielding the user from spoken arrows that pierce the hearts of men and beasts apologies waiting upon the field of battle frigid climate stifling movement a cold spout waking him to forsaken solidarity

Up the ladder: A Part of Me
Down the ladder: that woman

"sole" - do you mean that one, as "sole survivor" - or do you mean soul - like "heart and soul"?

Parts of this sound like an explosion in a thesaurus factory.
