Wintergreen (Free verse) by D. $ Fontera
Traces of autumn 'cross my being Cradled 'neath the void Oh, darting breath So quick to escape To drift among the zephyrs To be liberated Snowfall dresses the trees Draped in powder Frosted with white lace In leave of the grateful darkeness Sunbeams caress her face Forever smiling

Up the ladder: happy, but cautious
Down the ladder: They Knew Me From Adam
