Nothing Changes (Free verse) by Richard
I returned to this virtual land from holiday,
Finding moral scapegoats preaching their own nirvana.
âIt is my wayâ, it has to be, I am the center of my own universe!
Pray tell, who is this ignorant savant preaching writing lessons?
I know my ABCâs.
I remember prose or something like it from a past life,
Yet the rhythm, rhyme, and meter fail my grasp now.
Can I go back to being just a journeyman?
Those were the best times of my life!
Fun without responsibility, while wearing a dunce cap on bad days.
Itâs now time for my piano lessons, later dude.
âThe written word has power!
People will believe anything,
If someone takes the time to write it down.â
I heard that in a movie, once.
Words that haunt me every time I reach for my quill,
A modernized trusty writing device,
My Dell (registered & copyrighted of course) Keyboard.
Shall I write truth for the masses, or lie to my lover?
