Drowning in a Fire (Free verse) by thepinkbunnyofdoom
Everything glitters isn't lined in gold And even though my eyes are shining bright they are ice cold Images of you lyings scattered on the floor, Yes in that red dress you looked so stunning Its getting so that I don't recognize myself anymore Ever so sharp and cunning Thats why I'm running And I swear this is the last time That I burn for your crimes Against my smiling face There is just too much time can not erase Far Far Away In a distant galaxy The bar keep, will sell me sleep So that I can finally rest in pieces I've served my time in this iron town Built on the backs of dreams burnt to the ground I swear this is the last time That I burn for your crimes Against my smiling face There is just too much time can not erase So when my lungs finally turn black From choking on these ashes of your betrayal I know that I've paid my due To these memories, memories of you

Up the ladder: War Torn
Down the ladder: The Medium of Dunce
