The Mirror (Free verse) by berdabear
My strength betrays me, weakness prevails and so I face another day I can't look in the mirror I HATE her! Despise what she has become I've tried to change her, make her what she was A shadow Her eyes are hollow, soul empty I HATE her! If she were stronger she'd pull the trigger but her weakness haunts me torments my every moment and I scream Leave me!! I HATE her! She stares back at me empty stare, cold and hateful She mocks my weakness I'd pull the trigger and she'd be gone But my strength betrays me and so I face another day.

Up the ladder: Just today
Down the ladder: The Soul

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I only have fleeting moments of self hatred. Maybe its hormones maybe to much whisky sometimes. I find that writing about it helps to relieve the stress and I usualy feel much better. Kinda like lancing the wound to let the poison spill out so that it heals faster.

Its been nearly 5 years since I wrote this. If you take a moment to read my latest submission you'll find my attitude has changed dramatically. Thank god and the few who have really loved me!
