A Letter to You (Free verse) by QuirkyWonder
To Whom It May Concern: Don't you ever wonder Who is hidden behind the words? Well let me indulge you In a little knowledge about my life. I've been depressed for as long as I can remember From the moment my parents said They'd no longer be together From the time when I was pikced on And never just seemed to fit in I eventually learned to be different To stand out above the rest But I still haven't found my niche The lost piece of the puzzle That no one can seem to find Stranded in a corner Having no way to turn And feeling that if I were to buckle No one would be there to catch me So with this I turn to poetry Because words do not talk back They simply rest there on the paper Waiting for someone to read And say they understand.

Down the ladder: Marina

You're preaching to the choir. (check pikced)

Yeah, us altos generally sing a third below that melody, and a tenor like DgB, well he's all over the scale.

Thanks for the spell check...I usually go over my poems before submitting them, but I guess I missed it. Oh well! As far as preaching to the choir, I would not really call it preaching...and isn't that the point of poetry, being able to relate to what people write? Maybe I am wrong.

I have a friend whose best song is about song writer's block. She's had some of her songs recorded by a large entertainment corporation. When I asked her why her best song wasn't used, she said, 'It's an insider song. It doesn't appeal to people who listen to songs. The corp. felt it would appeal only to those who write songs." They were right. I love the song and your poem but it has a limited audience-- poets.

I bet it's a rubbish song. I bet your friend is rubbish.

Excellent Poem, captures lots of emotion in a seemingly harmless context. Well done.
