If my mind is blank do i cease to be?
If God is love, then am i free?
If i am hated, am i diseased?
For God and for country
For the heart and the soul
For the man and the monkey
For beauty and awe
I shall fight.

I like this (well, no crazy about the lowercase "i"'s) - for me it stays on the right side of honest introspection.
