On The Edge (Free verse) by jauser
NOTE: this poem is written by a friend of mine name: Stephen Alrite i wrote this last night for my English class, fukin better get an A for dis On The Edge I wake up in the mourning and drive to school Tired, sleepy, and on the edge The night before A mosquito buzzed around my room like a buzzsaw Keeping me awake, causing me to be Tired, sleepy, and on the edge With eyes as red as blood The day progresses My teacher just gave me an F on a test Some kid just accidently spit on my new shoes A flock of seagulls decide that my car is the perfect place to mark there territory As I walk into the parking lot The rest of the cars seem to be laughing at me With there clean and unmarked windshields I see my reflection And am reminded of how im feeling Tired, sleepy, and on the edge As I sloth my way through the halls The same kid who spit on my shoes decides to impede my motion He stares at me with eyes of a Tiger But all I see is a small puppy Barking furiously in a futile attempt for self preservation I fall off the edge But as I am preparing to shorten this persons lifespan I catch a glimpse of her out of the corner of my sleepy eyes She pulls me back on to the edge And thats where I stayed Sometimes I wonder why I put up with this everyday But she reminds me That while the world might make me feel Tired, sleepy, and on the edge She makes me feel Happy, thankfull, and glad life has put me here
