lost in the riptide (Free verse) by killingjuliet
One step closer to the edge One sip away from catharsis One hunger pang away from starvation I cannot cover my eyes anymore This nation is facing devastation. And I’m sick of all the he said, she said And I’m sick of your last name I’m sick of all the cowards And I want somewhere to place the blame. Somewhere in the black and white They lost track of what is wrong and right And I feeling the burning shame You cannot erase yourself, your past, your name. You’re lying right next to me, But you feel a galaxy away I’m down, I’m wounded, I’m your prey I’m analyzing every word that you say Trying to figure out who you’re playing today It’s not scripted, or rehearsed But there’s a chorus and refrain It’s just another ordinary day You’re looking a bit pale now dear Are you feeling okay?

Not as stellar as the other ones, I'm afraid.
