Creative Destruction (Free verse) by talking_goldfish
Beautiful harmony, That plagues the earth, Happiness becomes us, Little are we worth, The forbidden love of another, What is wrong? To have but a different lover, Must be strong, Creative destruction, They jest but it's true, Creative destruction, Cannot banish you, You must keep safe what you know, For knowledge is power, And love helps you grow, Seize the day, But take heed of the bad, Freeze the way, You make the world seem so glad, This infernal love scolded in our brain, Can we not see, it's the core of our pain? Why can life not be tranquil, Simple and plain, Why must we strive not, we can kill, Our hopes, clearly slain, A half empty glass, For us to harass, But love we must create, To shatter the mirror of hate.

you know, stubar, deleting a person's comment won't help you with this one. again, i say: this teaches me nothing. to fall in love with a person who is tied to another is a soul-rending experience. you piss all over the reader's digest condensed version of it. write about what you know, not what you think you know. your mirror is shallow indeed.

This is quite the weak poem filled with cliched language, images and ideas. With lines like "you make the world seem so glad" just kill the poem. I'd like to buy the world some coke.....la de da.
