For me Balthazar it's not so much a question of negative or positive affects, i'm just commenting on the fact that an affect will be made upon impressionable minds in this climate of aggression, both against and by the United States.

Thanks b for comments, they were very helpful, when it was written i was actually thinking of the perspective of American teenagers and how their visions of morality are affected by the leadership of a man like President Bush. The 'house' is a metaphor for their innocence if you like, without wanting to sound too trite. The last line is referring to the fact that history is written by those most powerful.

I really don't draw a line, as long as it's 'poetic', then it's poetry to me. Poetry isn't about technique and rules, it's about finding the beauty in the details. Poetry should be about giving, and there's nothing giving about indecipherable mazes of self indulgent diary entries with meaning that does not extend beyond the ego of the creator. Which is what most so called 'poetry' adds up to. If more people thought about giving something in their poetry to the reader, then poetry wouldn't have such a bad reputation.

Perhaps a little too bitter and judgemental. Some nice phrases though.
