twelve years of public school in one dream (Free verse) by calliope

kindergarten classrooms used by night as college dorm rooms. smoking lounges, smokey-smelling crayon drawings on the wall. run to school and run right back, race the bus i never rode it anyway. disposable cameras, disposable friends, trash on the floor, desks used as ashtrays. the room is surrounded by yellowing plastic toys. and stuffed in dirty party cups: book reports and cigarette butts.
