Hit & Run (Free verse) by horus8

laughing with a friend leaving the studio he still has glass of merlot sloshing we have been drinking steady all day and night is that a red light? no..it's the back of a honda! standing there we are all confused i say are you okay but he is already calling johnny. i burn rubber down a side street as my liscense plate flips over. some things are better than a d.u.i like a sore necked hangover and a week of door bell paranoia like some more hair of the dog that bit me... and maybe a new bumper.... well..maybe not. maybe louder gram parsons bigger tires and mud flaps would you have stayed? [Joshua tree will never let me be] <plus that was my last drink and chance card> a finger printed glass rolls still in the gutter... lets be a bit more careful...shall we..thanks. i'll try..

Strangely composed, but I like this one. 7. Try not to drink and drive, though. I find that spillage plays merry hell with the upholstery.
