The Glass (Free verse) by dancin_n_da_moonlite

The Glass separates me from life, so I am seeing from a different angle. The Glass makes everything seem sharper and harder and edgier. But that’s what the glass was made for. I have been told in the past that contacts would be so much prettier and would most assuredly bring out all my nice features. But I have also been told in the past that contacts make it all seem real and you can hardly tell they are there they are so comfortable. No. I don’t want it to seem real. I want to feel it. I want it to remind me that if I look out the corner of my eye I can see the true life on the other side of The Glass.

And glasses keep the bugs outa your eyes while cycling. I've been told that in the past, which is the same as "I've been told that."
