Pillow Talk (Free verse) by horus8

Golden is the boy that bends For money and the upturned fork Brave is the youngman that groans Under the saber of curiousity To stock up more beans and butter For winters ahead flashing like Spent bulb, and blown-curtain-sun Dashed upon plastic Malibu surf rocks Pregnant, shamed, and quite possibly Unable to walk home. In 6th grade we asked my best friend Chris's Older brother Mark (A pigeon chested menthol Smoking long hair) How we would know that we Were hitting puberty? To which he replied "Stick a tampon up your ass, count to a 100, and then pull it out real fast, if there's blood on it you're getting close." Thinking back now, I can only laugh... Brilliant.
