Dads are suppose to stay (Free verse) by Brandy_n_Cali

I used to call you daddy, once upon a day. But, you left me, dads are suppose to stay. Now your really gone, this time forever. You went where you will never get older. I had a chance to see you this time before you left. I chose not to. I hope without regret. I was mad at you, and I feel that I have that right. You let go of me without putting up a fight. I miss the dad that loved my Mother. I miss the dad that put his family before another. I miss the dad that wasn't skinny and sick. I miss the dad that never raised a hand. I miss the dad who took care of and supported his family like a man. I remember when I was young, you called me Dandy. That's the dad I miss, that's the dad that I regret not giving that last hug and kiss.
