Can I suggest adding the clerihew to the types of poems list? A clerihew is a couplet where the first line is the name of a person, such as:

Thomas Hardy
Used to get sloshed on bacardi.

It's fairly unlikely anyone's going to write one, but they should be encouraged.

Yes.

Has watched all the films in the trilogy sometimes referred to as "The Trilogy of Indiana Jones".
Actually, I've only watched two of them.

Dark Angel
Explores the seas with a snorkel.

Methinks one should, while we're at it, add sonnet, pantoum, and other things like hat before clerihew. Though adding sonnet will draw the wrath of all the modernists on here.

Sonnet is on there. I asked for it, and lo! it was done. Very gratifying.

I'm feeling lazy. Give me a "blurb" for the "about poetry" page, and maybe a couple links to help people, and I'll slap it on. (for the 'pantoum')

I agree - clerihews are easy and fun to write, and it makes a great springboard for newbies to get used to the poetry scene without the worry of having to rival Shakespeare with their first fledgling attempts.
