When a user tries to leave a comment or reply, you should add a check to see if the user is logged in before giving them the form. If they aren't logged in, redirect them to the login page.

I've tried to leave comments several times only to find out afterwards that I wasn't logged in.

That would definitely defeat the purpose of allowing anonymous comments--but I do sympathise. Hmm.

In theory, I could add an optional login along with the regular form submission.

In practice, that would be a PITA to retrofit to this system. But definitely something to consider anyway. :)

I thought you had to be logged in to leave comments. I just logged out and noticed underneath a poem "You must be logged in to leave comments." Can you only vote anonomously?

Either way, don't go out of your way, the system works great. Thank you!

Ok. You can't leave comments if you are logged out, but the reply link is active wether you are logged in or not, producing the above behavior.

Ah, funny--thanks. :) Things have changed so many times, and I don't pay half as much attention as I should, it seems.

That is quite right. You really should embark on a marketing drive, now you've got the advertising revenue in place this thing could be HUGE. Whilst you have stood still stroking your beard for the past four years there has been a colossal proliferation of other poetry websites which are nowhere near as good but have a much have a much greater audience. Unless we are destined to see this website become just a constant tit for tat between Doivina and whoever happens to be logged in something must be done. I will happily fund you with £ sterling (a currency which still means something) for whatever marketing ambitions you may have. Also you should allow Fraser back in, he is very sorry and is getting far too much work done now he can't waste several hours postulating on users' sexuality.

Remind me how I blocked him? Did I?

I get bounced emails to him all the time...

You redirect him to Disney everytime his IP address so much as carouses on the front door step of the mighty 'ranker.

You blocked him because he is a massive fool who thought it was funny to tell everyone they're gay, who cares!
