Devour (Free verse) by leviathan
Sweet summer heat gives way to harsher cold freezing out the light Shadows rise as soldiers preped for battle The sun is dead; they declare into the night The moon is king; ending the reign of day Childish innocence melts away replaced by shame turning into regret Scars emerge as headstones for faded memories The soul is dead; it decays into the night The pain is king; ending faith in anything divine Hazy solitude grows thick in time devouring every wonderful sight Emptiness births echos that sound like voices Your are dead; there's nothing more to be done Death becomes king; devouring me as there is nothing else for me to become.
