An End to the Beginning (Free verse) by Pervy Elf
I was foolish to think you would love me, always and forever. I guess this is how we learn. This is how I learn. Close your eyes, think again. Did you really mean everything? Everything that you said? I want to believe in something, you most of all. But talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words. This time I heard you. Loud and clear. I'll leave you alone now, I'll cease to care. Don't worry about me, not that you really ever did. Life moves on, as I've learned. I'll find someone new to hurt me. Again.
