Something on my Shoe (Free verse) by kthay
Thereâs something on my shoe
And Iâm not sure what to do,
It may be an old sweetie or chewing gum
Iâm cross about my shoe
Because my shoes are new
Iâd better get off home and show my Mum
As I reach the gate
I decide that I will wait
In case my Mum is just as cross as me
But now itâs getting late
Should I go and face my fate?
No, I hide my shoes so that Mum cannot see!
Next morning thereâs a stink
Mum thinks it is the sink
So she pours down lots of bleach and then goes out
I sit and have a think
Then I go and find the stink
It seems to be my shoe and thereâs no doubt!
I look under my shoe
And it smells just like a loo
Then I realize what it is, cos Iâm not dumb
My shoe, no longer new
Is covered in dog poo
So I throw it in the bin and hide from Mum!
