It's about truckin' (Free verse) by INTRANSIT
It's about corners
It's about curves
someone cut me off
and I had to swerve.
It's having the sand
and moving some boulders.
That son-of-a-bitch just
jumped off the shoulder!
It's about food
It's about shelter
No logic in logistics
it's all helter-skelter.
It's coast to coast
and doin' the rounds
It's thirty-five uphill
at eighty-thousand pounds.
It's going to New York
at my behest and
still getting done
despite the rats nest.
It's about lights.
It's about chrome.
It's three-hundred-sixty-five
days of not going home.
It's a lifestyle or,
a means to an end.
Delivering unscathed
your new Mercedes Benz.
It's about needs.
It's about drive,
delivering oxygen that
keeps your grandma alive
It's about art.
It's about physics.
You can't get the job done
without knowing some tricks.
It's about sun.
It's about rain.
It's about intermodal;
from the ship to the train.
It's about cabovers.
It's about hoods.
It's about the industry
and all of its' moods.
It's about lonliness,
being starved for affection.
Wishing you could get loaded
in a homeward direction.
It's about midnight runs
and no doubt, I'm sure you
know it's usually a big truck
that's first to the rescue.
