A Mod Proposal (of Modest Proportions) (Free verse) by coolassbob
Dylan Thomas used a socket wrench to ratchet
Dublin's fellows' stockings above their knee.
For, according to his calendar, the age
of copper was coming, and so the shins
must be protected. (For extreme protection,
it was advised that one stand on a chair
and eat acorns from New England pine trees).
A year passed, and instead it was the age of glass,
where forks were blown, and used to eat
potatoes (so that the sacks could be worn
over the torso, with a fashionable piece of string,
as was the style at the time).
