\The Moment/ (Free verse) by Son Of A Bitch
Eyes colder than the carcase of snow,
The last goodbye I told her,
The sunrise I sold her,
Challenged me as I was about to go.
She took off the ring I bought her,
And spoke of the thing I taught her,
The thing that controlled her,
And the joy it would bring,
each time I'd hold her.
Now just a wished upon star,
soon to be ashes.
I felt fulfilled,
as love spilled from a cheating, beating heart,
that intensified with each tear she cried,
then suddenly vanish.
In love you can fly,
you can live a moment you believe lasts forever,
But once you fall,
Like Icarus you die.
So near to a dream,
a clear final scream,
from the man with a girl,
the clam with a pearl,
Take a slice of my life add it too drink,
a husband and wife baby what do you think?
I'd rather take the jump and fly,
And live the moment before I die,
But what a moment.
